On August 8th 2017, USCIS announced that interviews for employment-based adjustment cases (EB-1 through EB-5) and refugee/asylee relative petitions will begin in a phased manner effective October 1st 2017. In addition to these categories, an incremental expansion of interviews to other benefit types is forthcoming.

It is not clear at this point as to how the “phase-in” process will proceed or whether applicants who have already filed AOS (Adjustment of Status) applications will be included in the interview process. It is likely that there could be a delay in the adjudication of adjustment of status applications due to already limited resources.
